THE BEST MEDICINE IS ... LAUGHTER! Really, no joke.

It's the best exercise there is for your facial muscles, belly, heart and circulatory system, immune system, nervous system, endocrine system, digestion. It's the easiest (and most fun!) way to lose weight.

Laughing just 15 minutes a day will reduce your cholesterol, lower your blood pressure, reduce your pain levels, and use up enough calories to shave off 5 pounds a year of extra weight -- all while shaping up your abdominal muscles.

Better yet, you don't even have to try! Statistically, the average American adult already laughs 15 times a day. Children beat us hands-down at 200 times a day. Is this a hint to take yourself a little less seriously?

Here`s something else about laughter

"It has been scientifically proven that your body cannot tell the difference between pretend laughter and spontaneous laughter," writes Dr. Kataria in his book, Laugh for No Reason. "Pretend laughter becomes genuine through eye contact and the contagious nature of laughter."

Mark Twain understood the need for laughter when he wrote: "The human race has only one really effective weapon, and that's laughter. The moment it arises, all our hardnesses yield, all our irritations and resentments slip away, and a sunny spirit takes their place."

If you have made mistakes, even serious mistakes, you may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call "failure" is not the falling down, but the staying down. -Mary Pickford

"Once, people only flew in their dreams. Now, they dream during their flights." - Howard Hendrix

"I who am blind can give one hint to those who see: use your eyes as if tomorrow you would be stricken blind. And the same method can be applied to the other senses. Hear the music of voices, the song of a bird, the mighty strains of an orchestra as if you would be stricken deaf tomorrow. Touch each object as if tomorrow your tactile sense would fail. Smell the perfume of flowers, taste with relish each morsel as if tomorrow you could never smell and taste again. Make the most of every sense, glory in all the facets of pleasure and beauty which the world reveals to you through the several means of contact which nature provides." --Helen Keller

We didn't come here to simply pass through life on our way to someplace else. We came here to savor life, to sensually take it all in, moment by cherished moment.

May you enjoy your life to the fullest, employing your senses, your heart and your soul in the process. Peace~Nanette

"If we had no winter, spring would not be so pleasant; If we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome." ~Anne Bradstreet, 17th Century poet

It is not our difficulties that create pain in our lives but rather our adverse reaction to them. When we start recognizing every difficulty as a blessing in disguise changes begin to take place within and life naturally becomes more joyful.

May you always be willing to see the blessing in everything. PEACE~NANETTE

"The game of life is the game of boomerangs. Our thoughts, deeds and words return to us sooner or later with astounding accuracy." ~Florence Scovel Shinn, Author~

When we begin to comprehend that what we are sending out is going to return to us, whether we like it or not, then making the effort daily to live by the Golden Rule really, really, really starts to make sense.

May that which you send forth daily create most glorious tomorrows. Peace~Nanette

Two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey, they had an argument; and one friend slapped the other one in the face.

The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:

Today my best friend slapped me in the face.

They kept on walking, until they found an oasis, where they decieded to take a bath

The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started growning, but the friend saved him.

After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone:

"Today my best friend saved my life ".

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "after I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?"

The friend replied "when someone hurts us we should write it down in the sand, where the wind of forgivness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

Learn to write your hurt in the sand and to carve your benifits in stone. PEACE~NANETTE

Wisdom

Wisdom is knowledge of danger but no fear. It is the ability to spot a twist in the path in the distance, a narrow stretch, the possibility of a collision; to stop and wait in peace until something has passed. No wisdom is keeping going, hoping it will be alright PEACE AND BLESSINGS NANETTE
