The Pinnacle

Issue 23 By Lisa Diane

"Tips, Strategies & Insights for Extraordinary Living"

"Too Much Is NOT Enough!

WARNING: This issue of the Pinnacle is NOT the usual. It's in the questions that I hope you'll find the answers.

We live life so wrapped up in much to do about nothing. Everyday we go through the motions, doing more of the same, while secretly wishing we could have, do and be so much more. But more of what?Have you ever stopped to really think about WHO you are... WHY you're here and WHAT really matters to you?

For most people life is just a series of non-meaningful moments filled with stress, strain, struggle and resistance to what is. Yet life is experienced almost on auto-pilot... like we're driving cross-country asleep at the wheel. What would happen if you suddenly woke up?Who would you find living in your skin?

The baby boomers started out down a path of self-discovery... in pursuit of the age old questions... "Who am I?"... "Why am I here"... "What's the point to it all?"... yet they ended up cashing-in their free-spirited search for what the generation before them proclaimed as the way to security. A 9-5 existence where you traded your dreams for a steady paycheck and that secure financial future that was paramount to a good life. But look at us now. We've got it all yet nothing really matters... nothing seems to truly make us happy... nothing satisfies those eternal questions still deep inside our soul.Life speeds by... everyday bringing more to do, bigger demands and less satisfaction. Yet most of us don't even notice. We're too busy living our autopilot lives to even realize what's happening. We're blind to the fact that our most precious commodity, time, is falling through our fingers like the raging waters at Niagara Falls. And those things that we want... really want... if we even know what they are... become less and less a part of who we are to the point that we become so numb we don't even notice the years... the decades... that go by with almost nothing to show for it. Is this all there is? Is this as good as it gets? Is there a point to it all?

I think back to days gone by... other times before our amazing discoveries, inventions and conveniences. Were the people who lived in those days actually alive? Alive from the inside out? In other words, did those people know what it was like to actually live instead of just going through the motions, struggling to make ends meet and spending most of our time asleep on autopilot?

Throughout history there have been those who stood for something... who pursued a life of purpose and savored the magic in the moments. These are people who line the pages of our history books, family bibles and community archives. Their stories give us chills... to imagine the feeling of such incredible contribution. Because isn't that what our soul craves after all? A life of purpose?

If you dropped off the face of the earth today, would it matter? Outside of a few friends and family, would anyone even know you were no longer here?Imagine for a moment what it would feel like to live every day truly ALIVE with purpose and passion. Imagine the feeling each night as you climbed into bed, knowing that today you made a difference. What untapped greatness lies trapped inside of you?If you could have, do or be absolutely anything... what would it be? WHO would you be?

Isn't it time you woke up and lived a life that actually matters? Even if it's a life that only matters to YOU? Otherwise, you'll continue to pay the price of life without purpose... going through the motions without ever enjoying the payoff. It's not about what you can get... but instead about what you can give. You were designed with a unique purpose that only you can fulfill. There's greatness inside of you just waiting to be unleashed. Look at your life. Discover your passion and blaze your own path to whatever makes your heart sing. Wake up. Pay attention in this moment and every moment--as this my friend, is your life. This is your wakeup call. You'll never get this moment back. Today is all there is. Yesterday is over, just a fleeting memory and tomorrow doesn't exist. Now, today, this moment is your only point of power. You can have and do and be what you want... what you really, really want... but only if you make the decision to wake up and live... really live.

Your life starts NOW. Will you seize the moment or go back to sleep and continue your pursuit of nothing? It's your choice. Live well.
