Positive Thought for the Day

Get ok
One way to lower your stress level is to get away from it all. Another way is to get ok with it all.
Stress becomes more stressful the more you fight against it. Keep in mind, though, that you don't have to fight it.
You can actually choose to welcome and accept whatever is going on. As soon as you do, you put yourself in a position of power and control.
By accepting the stressful situation instead of running away or fighting, you give yourself more positive options. You become able to make use of whatever is going on and to direct it toward a worthwhile purpose.
Accepting the presence of a difficult situation does not mean that you're in favor of it having it continue. It means that you're ready to clearly see and deal with reality.
Instead of making the stress worse by fighting it, step calmly and confidently forward to make the best of it. Choose not to let it get to you, and you'll be able to accomplish so very much more.

It was the day after Christmas at a church in San Francisco. Pastor Mike was looking at the nativity scene outside when he noticed the baby Jesus was missing from the figures.
Immediately, Pastor Mike turned towards the church to call the police. But as he was about to do so, he saw little Jimmy with a red wagon, and in the wagon was the figure of the little infant, Jesus.

When setting priorities and making choices, consider the whole of life. Attempting to play off one thing against another will never work for very long.
When you shortchange one part of your life, other things suffer. When you work to add value somewhere in your world, that value is reflected in other places too.
Eventually, the good, sincere, authentic things you do will exhibit their influence throughout your world. There's a way to live through each experience that will enhance and improve all the other experiences.
Think of your decisions not as discreet events, but rather as interrelated expressions of who you truly are. Realize that each action has an influence that spreads far beyond its original context.

There was a man who couldn't talk and he wanted to learn how.
So he went to an oprera and heard the singer go "Meeeeeeeeeeemeeeeeemeeeeeeee."
Next he went to a pottery store and heard a salesman going "Forks and knives, forks and knives."
Next, in the street he heard a kid go "He stole my lollipop!"
He walked around all day learning these phrases. While he was practicing he accidently walked on a murder scene and practically tripped over the dead guy in the street. Before he knows it, he's talking to a policeman who asks "Who killed this man?"

Positive Thought for the Day

An airline captain was breaking in a new flight attendant. The route they were flying had a layover in another city. Upon their arrival, the captian showed the flight attendant the best places for airline personnel to eat, shop, and stay overnight.
The next morning, as the pilot was preparing the crew for the day's route, he noticed the new flight attendant was missing. He knew which room she was in at the hotel and called her up wondering what happened.
She answered the phone, crying, and said she couldn't get out of her room.
"You can't get out of your room?" the captain asked, "Why not?"
The flight attendant replied, "There are only three doors in here." She sobbed, "one is the bathroom, one is the closet, and one has a sign on it and says "Do Not Disturb!'"
Ice Fishing
An old man walked out onto a frozen lake on a bitter cold winter day. He drilled a hole in the ice, sat on his bucket, put his fishing line in the water and eagerly waited for a fish to bite.
He was there for almost five hours without even a nibble when a young boy walked out, drilled a hole in the ice and sat on his bucket not far from the old man. It only took about one minute and BAM! A huge walleye bit his hook and the boy pulled in the fish.
The old man couldn't believe it and figured it was just luck. Yet, the boy put his fish line in again and within just two minutes he pulled in another huge walleye!
This went on and on until finally the old man couldn't stand it any more. He hadn't caught a fish all day. He went to the boy and said, "Boy, I've been here nearly all day without even a nibble. You have been here only a few minutes and have caught TEN huge fish! How do you do it?"
The boy said, "Oo af o rep ra rums rm."
"What," asked the old man?
Again the boy said, "Oo af o rep ra rums rm.”
Freezing and impatient the old man yelled "Look, I can't understand a word you are saying."

A Western Buddhist woman was in India, studying with her teacher. She was riding with another woman friend in a rickshaw-like carriage, when they were attacked by a man on the street. In the end, the attacker only succeeded in frightening the women, but the Buddhist woman was quite upset by the event and told her teacher so. She asked him what she should have done - what would have been the appropriate, Buddhist response.
The teacher said very simply, "You should have very mindfully and with great compassion whacked the attacker over the head with your umbrella."

Lester Levenson
"Mind is consciousness that has assumed limitations.
We are naturally unlimited until we assume a mind.
Then the evolution begins of progressively limiting
ourselves until we can no longer bear it. When life

At the end of two weeks, Dr. Schultz arrived for his regular morning visit, and after examining his patient, pulled up a chair and sat down.
"I'm discharging you today. Your condition is stable, and there's no reason to keep you here any longer. Now that doesn't mean you're well. Far from it. You need an indefinite period of convalescence as well as checkups at regular intervals. But you don't need to be in the hospital any longer. You can continue with bed rest and medication at home."
The doctor went on to outline his at-home program of rest, medication, and regular office visits; his diet; social activities (none); even his sex life (also none). Lester was surprised, but determined to follow doctor's orders.
"How long will this go on, Doc?" he asked. "How long do I have to take it easy like this? I realize you can't tell me exactly, but can you give me some idea?" He watched the doctor carefully as he waited for an answer. It seemed like a long time before Dr. Schultz spoke.
"How old are you, son?"
That wasn't what he expected. He wondered what was coming next. There was something in the doctor's manner he didn't like. "Forty-two," he answered and waited.
Dr. Schultz looked out the window, his face impassive as he sat lost in thought. After a long moment, during which neither man moved, the doctor nodded his head once, a sharp decisive movement which frightened Lester, and spoke abruptly and with finality.
"From now on, I'm afraid."
"What do you mean, from now on?" A very sick feeling was rising from his gut, up into his stomach.
"I mean that you cannot expect to live a normal life from here on." He went on quickly when he saw Lester's shocked look. "You've just had a very serious coronary; you're lucky to be alive at all. Anyone else would have been dead by now with the severity of this attack." The doctor paused, then cleared his throat, "I realize how difficult it must be for you to hear this, but I assure you it isn't pleasant for me either." He got up abruptly and walked to the window, his back to Lester. "I wish there were something else I could say; I wish I could tell you that in a few months you'd be back to normal and could pick up your life where you left off," he paused, turning to face Lester quietly, "but I can't. In all conscience, I can't tell you that And I'm sorry."
Lester was angry now. "You're sorry? Well, so am I! You saved my life ... for what? So that I can be an invalid for the rest of it? What the hell kind of life are you giving me back anyway?"
Once started, he couldn't stop. He raved on and on. All his frustration, rage and anger poured out until the sick feeling in the pit of his stomach finally rose to his throat and he began to cough and choke. The doctor held a basin for him while he gagged and heaved and finally fell back exhausted onto the pillows, his hand shaking as he reached up to wipe his mouth.
The doctor was shaking too as he carried the soiled basin to the bathroom. He carefully placed it on the floor, then hunched over the sink, one hand on each side of it supporting his weight, his forehead touching the cold mirror of the medicine chest on the wall. In spite of all his years of practice, these situations still affected him. He thought of home and wished he were there now, his day over, relaxing before dinner with a drink or two. With a deep sigh, he pulled himself erect and walked back into the room.
"I'll sign the discharge papers today. but you can stay on if you want," he said quietly "If you need more time to make your arrangements, I'll tell the nurse it's okay." He didn't know what else to say.
Lester answered, "No, that's all right, I'll leave today, this afternoon. There doesn't seem to be any point in prolonging it"
"All right, whatever you decide is all right. But remember that you can change your mind and stay a bit longer if you want." He stood in silence for a moment, while he closely examined Lester's ashen face. "Please be sure to take it easy when you get home. I can't overemphasize the importance of that. You shouldn't climb any stairs at all. And do you have shoes without laces; you know, loafers?"
"Loafers? No, why?"
"You might want to have someone buy you a pair. It's better if you don't have to bend over to tie your shoes. It puts an additional strain on your heart when you get into that position."
The idea struck Lester as ridiculous but all he said was "Okay, whatever you say." He'd always hated loafers but it didn't matter now. Then as he watched the doctor walk toward the door, a question occurred to him. "Doc," he asked, "I'm not going to die, am I? I mean, I might have to kind of take it easy from here on, but I'm not going to die, right?"
Dr. Schultz stopped. "I don't know," he answered, then turned to face Lester. "I wish I could give you a positive answer, but I can't. The truth is that I simply don't know. You've had a massive heart attack and you could live for another year or two, or you could go tomorrow. I just don't know."
"Thanks for being honest with me, Doc. I'll be seeing you."

The junior officers challenged the senior officers at an Air Force Base in North Caroline to see who would donate the most blood.
After trying several times to locate a vein in the left arm of a young first lieutenant, the medical technician applied a Band-Aid, and then inserted a needle into the right arm, drawing blood this time, and then put a Band-Aid on that arm as well.
As he left the collection facility, the lieutenant passed a colonel. Noting the two bandages, he looked at the first lieutenant and shook his head, saying, "I knew you young guys would find some way to cheat."

The junior officers challenged the senior officers at an Air Force Base in North Caroline to see who would donate the most blood.
After trying several times to locate a vein in the left arm of a young first lieutenant, the medical technician applied a Band-Aid, and then inserted a needle into the right arm, drawing blood this time, and then put a Band-Aid on that arm as well.

Give a little kindness
A negative attitude can be contagious. Fortunately, so can a positive attitude. One of the biggest challenges of staying positively focused can come from the negative people who cross your path. Yet instead of letting them get you down, you can choose to lift them up.

Let It Be You - Jim Rohn
Each and every day, there are people all around the country and world who are living their dreams. Millionaires are made every day. Families are experiencing tremendous relationships. People are becoming more and more healthy. Life-long learners are growing intellectually and improving their chances for success.
The fact is that living the life of your dreams is possible. People prove that every day. Someone somewhere is going to get rich, get healthy and improve their life. My recommendation is this: Let it be you!
Have you ever wanted to make more money? Have you ever looked at someone who has money and wished that it could be you? People think about getting wealthy all of the time, when only a small percentage actually does. But any of the masses could. Someone is going to start a business. Someone is going to make a great investment. Someone is going to begin the journey to great wealth. So why not let it be you?
Someone is going to decide to improve their relationships. Someone is going to enjoy love with their family. Someone is going to schedule some meaningful time with their friends. So why not let it be you?
Someone is going to go back to school to improve their life. Someone is going to become a life-long learner. Someone is going to set a goal to read a book or listen to a CD each week for the next year. So why not let it be you?

I think that by now you get the point: Everyday people are improving their lives. Whether you do or not doesn't matter to those who do. They are going to do it, regardless. It is simply a matter of a decision being made. Let that person be you!
You may be asking, "Okay Jim, but how?" Well, let's cover the very simple actions.
The first and most important is to make a commitment to work on yourself. Are you going to improve or stay the same? No matter what you have achieved, you are at a certain point right now. What you have achieved in the past is fine, but it doesn't make a difference for the future. The decision about what you will become is made each day and every day. Each day someone is making the decision to better him or herself. Let that person be you!
The second is to make a plan. Once you have decided to become better you will have to have a plan. It doesn't have to be a long, intricate plan. It can be simple. Save a dollar a day. Walk a mile a day. Read an article a day. That is a simple plan with achievable goals. Someone is going to develop a plan that will take them into the future of their dreams. Let it be you!
The third is to begin to act. All of the great ideas, without action, become stale and useless. The key to turning dreams into reality is action. People who have great ideas are a dime a dozen. People who act on their dreams and ideas are the select few, but they are the ones who gain the wealth, wealth and wisdom that is available. Someone will act today. Let it be you.

4 Steps
I found 4 steps that I trully believe and I am following these steps everyday in my own pursuit of happiness.
They are:
1. FORGIVE
2. BELIEVE
3. DO
4. BE
1. FORGIVE
I truly believe that people won't achieve wealth, inspiration, success and happiness if they don't see themselves worthy of those things. Many people don't see that the problems in their life for not achieving what they want is not on other people's hand but it is on their hands. They don't realise that they have a problem with themselves.
Many people haven't forgiven themselves and accepted themselves as they are. How many times we judge ourselves when things go wrong? How many times we punish ourselves when things don't happen the way we want them to? There is an old saying, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." We have to understand that we have to first truly love ourselves first by accepting ourselves as we are before we can truly love others. It doesn't mean that we accept our weaknesses but have the passion in our lives that we will strive to give the best of our lives. Anyway we live only once, why don't we give it the best shot that we got?
2. BELIEVE
After forgiving ourselves, then we need to start believing. Believe that God wants us to live an abundance life.
We have to know, whether we believe it or not, that whatever we passionately think about or focus on all the time, it is not necessarily positive things, will be attracted in our lives. And this is where the problem lies, most of the times we focus on the things that we don't want to have or do and therefore instead of getting what we want to have or do, we get what we don't want. There is an old saying, "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do."
The good news is that we can change our focus by just merely shifting our thoughts. It does not mean that we have to control our minds. Wow, that would be an impossible things to do but to just merely change our thoughts when we realise that we are focusing on what we don't want instead of what we want. One of the best ways to do it, is by having a vision board or dream board. This is where we keep reminding ourselves to focus on things that we want to have or do. By doing this exercise, you will find yourselves focusing on the things that you want to have or do. I trully believes in the natural law of living, which is the golden rule of all, "What a man thinks about himself, so is he." All this is saying to us that our thoughts are very powerful, more than just a thought.
I can't stress enough about this, if you can get through whatever your beliefs are right now to see or at least accept that your lives have been affected by this law whether you realise it or not, whether you believe it or not.
Final note about BELIEVE, while we are living in this world, why don't we trully believe all the good things that we want to have or do can be ours.
3. DO
After believing, we need to act by doing everything towards your beliefs. Do something about it and start seeing changes happening in your life. I believe that faith without action is nothing. So, we need to act in faith. Take that leap of faith and start walking towards your dreams.
So many people only dream about things they want but never find ways on how to achieve it and make a plan and do the plan. As it is so true that if you fail to plan then you plan to fail. You are guaranteed that you will never achieve your dreams if you never plan your way to your dreams. One more important ingredient in DO is persistence.
If you plan once and the plan fails and then you stop because of it, then you are once again planing to fail. Doing what you believe means keep on doing what you believe. It means never to stop doing it. That's it. If you fall, get up, do it again, fall, get up, do it again, until you succeed.
Life is never easy but life is never hard on us. It will never be more than what we can bear. It is a promise you can keep as long as you don't quit. So, keep Doing what you believe.
4. BE
This is the final step. There will be one point in your life where suddenly life just opens up for you and everything falls into its' places where it belong and life starts to manifest all of the things you have dreamed about. At this stage, this is the harvesting time.
One note to remind you of when you achieve this step, do not stop here. Go back to step one and expand your life more and more. That is what I truly believe in my life.
Many stories I heard, either from a friend of mine or from a book that I read or even from my own experiences, follows these 4 steps. Our lives are in stages and every stage of our lives comprises of these 4 steps whether we believe it or not.

Something else should also be added to the steps above to get what you want in life practice an attitude of gratitude. Be grateful for everything you recieve big or small. Give thanks for everything you recieve. Give thanks for getting up in the morning, for being able to afford food. Give thanks for the air you can breathe. In other words be thankful or grateful for everything big or small. If you practice an attitude of gratitude for everything you will recieve the things you are wanting to have. Practice gratitude for the things you are working toward, the things that are on the way for you, as if they are already yours now.

Be the difference
When things around you seem too noisy, hectic and out of control, be extra calm, peaceful and patient. If the people in your life seem too greedy and selfish, that's the time to be extra loving, giving and sincerely compassionate. When the world seems a bit too confused and aimless, be extra focused and purposeful. For the world outside will soon reflect back to you the energy you give it.
If you don't like what you see, you have the opportunity to change it by changing the way you are. If there is darkness all around you, that's an opportunity for you to shine your own special light.
Even a small beacon in the darkness will shine for a long, long way. Choose to be the difference that makes a real difference, and your efforts will bear abundant fruit.
When things around you seem to be at their worst, that's when you can accomplish the most by being your best. That's when you can truly make a valuable, much-needed positive difference.
When trouble and confusion surround you, see the situation as the opportunity that it is. Shine your positive light in the face of negativity, and you will change your world.

12-mile march
I was a new Army basic trainee at Fort McClellan and one requirement was a demanding 12-mile march. We got started at 6 a.m. and were pumped up for the trek. An hour later, feeling the heavy load of our packs, we wondered if the end would ever come.
“Men,” our sergeant yelled, “You're doing a FINE job. We've already covered four miles!”
Revitalized, we picked up the pace.
“And,” continued Sarge, “we should reach the starting point any minute now.”
